Cela fait une éternité que je n'ai plus posté sur mon blog, mais avec le boulot et les déplacements j'ai de moins en moins de temps...

En attendant voici la définition Wikipedia de FAE (Field Application Engineer) soit une description de mon poste actuel.
Je trouve que cette définition décrit vraiment bien le travail que je fais actuellement et n'oublie pas de préciser que le FAE intervient après la vente du produit mais aussi avant, il est donc en partie responsable du succès (ou de l'échec) de cette dernière. D'où la nécéssité de bien se coordonner avec les commerciaux.

A Field Applications Engineer typically provides Technical support for a manufacturer (particularly, but not exclusively an OEM) of products, or a distributor that sells or represents products.

Focuses on different product lines and typically serves all regional engineers by providing in-depth technical knowledge relating to their products in pre-sales and post-sales roles.

Pre-sales support to provide assurances to the potential client that the product will work for what the client requires.

Post-Sales support to assist with integration of the product into the design/working scenario or to help the customer out of a problem situation with the product.
